Race Around Red Top

Race Around Red Top is back!
Join us March 8th in person at Red Top Mountain State Park in Acworth, GA, or participate virtually from your own home trails.

RACE registration

Canicross Event

All dogs running in canicross are required to wear designated canicross gear. Harnesses that have “Y” chest bands and do not restrict the dogs movement, bungee lead 4' - 6’ ft attached to a hands free waist belt must be worn for those running in the canicross class.

Only one dog can be run at a time, unless in the 2-Dog Canicross Class or Dog Friendly 5k Class.

2- Dog Canicross Class Gear Requirements:  IFSS rules for 2-dog class require single split bungee line with neck line. Though we are not sanctioned by IFSS we will be following the international standard for a 2 dog class.

Registered children under 15 will need to run with a registered adult.

Dog Friendly Event

New to canicross or have a pup in training?
We’re also offering a Dog-Friendly 5K Trail Run immediately following the competitive canicross race.

This class is designed to be more relaxed and accessible, but for safety reasons face leads, flexi leashes, and no-pull harnesses are not permitted. A maximum of two dogs per handler is allowed.

No dog? No problem! Humans without a dog are welcome to register for this class as well.

Virtual Event

Can’t be there in person? You can still earn your challenge coin and event swag by participating virtually!

Virtual runners will complete a 5K distance on any local, unpaved trail between March 8 and March 31. On March 8, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to upload your results.

Please be sure to submit your results by March 31, 2026. Virtual runners are not eligible for awards for top finishers, as virtual participation is based on an honor system.

CARICATURE BOOKINGS!

We’re excited to have caricature artist Eddie Platt joining us on Race Day to create mini caricature drawings of you and your pup!

Sessions can be booked in advance or on race day, and are offered in hourly blocks with 18 slots per hour, running from 9:30 AM–1:30 PM.

We strongly recommend booking in advance to guarantee your spot and avoid missing out!
